  @Ben, I used to do the same thing with combining my service/gateway objects just so I didn't have to create another file (silly reason, I know).   @Ryan - Although I agree that there probably isn't a real reason to roll a full blown framework these days I still think it's absolutely important to be able to write a basic one yourself.
