ColdFusion 10 - Invoking ColdFusion Closures From Within A Java Context, Part II
Posted on Mar 3, 2012 at 1:46 PM
I agree that CF is propably sufficient 95% of the time, but sometimes CF doesn't have functionality provided and then it's great to have something in java to call and use. Java is so freaking big - seems like they have a solution to everything.... read more »

Project HUGE: Huge In A Hurry - Get Big - Phase 3 / Week 3

@Ben Actually it's closer to 300 pounds(130-150 kg). I don't want to go too heavy because my lower back starts getting sore for more than 150 kg (330 pounds). I did like half-squats with a smith-machine a couple of years with like 5-7 reps with 200 kg (440 pounds) , but I stopped because my lower... read more »

Project HUGE: Huge In A Hurry - Get Big - Phase 3 / Week 3

Sometimes you feel like training so hard that you can almost walk... One favorite of my own is to do barbell squats, like from 100 pounds as warm-up, and for each set put on a plate more so I stop around at 300-400 pounds. Then go back down again - a pyramid set. And the heaviest set you only do one... read more »

ColdFusion and OOP - Match Made in Heaven, or Long Road to Hell?
Posted on Jul 15, 2009 at 8:13 AM
@Jean What I've done with PHP is that you can create classes in the same way as in C# and Java, and thus create object-oriented applications if you wish. Sure, there are some differences and the syntax is not entirely the same. And PHP is loosely typed which Coldfusion is also, but C# and Java are... read more »

ColdFusion and OOP - Match Made in Heaven, or Long Road to Hell?
Posted on Jul 15, 2009 at 2:30 AM
I would think that learning Java or something similar (C#,C++,Actionscript 3,PHP etc) - (maybe preferably a language with curly braces???) is the best to grasp object oriented thinking. And be a developer who can more than a language. Propably hard to be a expert in it but at least know some other s... read more »

Ha ha! I know that one too - I do too some weird exercises. Don't be the guy who only trains their chest and biceps, and the guy who only trains their upper body. Squats and deadlifts are essential to get big and strong.... read more »

AxisFault: ColdFusion Web Services And XML Data Types
Posted on Jun 16, 2009 at 4:09 AM
WebService data types can be a pain in the ass. If you cast everything to a string you can always inside your own application cast them to the appropriate data type. Especially if you connect to other platforms the casting can be problematic, I've had troubles with .NET webservices vs. Coldfusion we... read more »
