  • DreamWeaver CS3 Slows Me Down

Posted on Nov 26, 2013 at 5:13 PM

This post is still relevant as I just found out having to rebuild my work computer from scratch. I had to figure out all over again what I did to make DW4 work with my mapped drives (set in Local View) and not take forever to open and save files. Basically here's the rundown/summary for anyone in ... read more »

  • Ask Ben: CFImage And Dynamic Image Compression With File Size Limits

Posted on May 19, 2011 at 3:15 PM

I solved the problem by forgetting about cfimage altogether and using cfheader/cfcontent instead. I was hoping to be able to view the full-res image in the browser (hence all the cfimage business) but since the file size issue was critical and cfimage kept changing it, now it just sends a pop-up pr... read more »

Hi, Ben. I'm working on a cfsharepoint integration project that deals with lots image libraries hosted on our sharepoint server. Because sharepoint is behind our firewall I am using cfhttp to retrieve the image then writing it to browser with cfimage for display to the public. The problem I'm hav... read more »

  • Creating An Infinite Scroll Effect With jQuery And ColdFusion

Posted on Feb 1, 2011 at 1:47 PM

Nevermind, I eventually figured it out, I was just being lazy at first. :) The incredible simple solution is to change the $( window ).bind handler from window to "input" (the quotes are required around input) then change the action from "scroll resize" to just "click"... read more »

Can someone please post a quick update on how you would implement this with a "More Button" click rather than plain scrolling? For my application I would like users to click a button to dynamically load more content at the bottom of the transcript. Thanks.... read more »

  • DreamWeaver CS3 Slows Me Down

By the way, my DW CS3 started crashing the other day. Nothing had changed that I was aware of, then I found this tidbit about "Dreamweaver CS3 crashes after Daylight Savings Time ends" and it fixed my problem. This is almost starting to sound like Microsoft-land. God, Adobe needs a new IDE. ht... read more »

  • Learning ColdFusion 8: CFThread Part I - Data Exchange

Posted on Jul 26, 2008 at 2:27 PM

Thanks. I found a workaround. I was able to remove the child threads that are processing the input and error streams by combining the output into a single stream using the magic "2>&1" switch at the end of my command line. I posted full details at http://cfsearching.blogspot.com/2008/01/using... read more »

I know ColdFusion does not allow you to launch threads within threads, but theoretically is it possible using java inside a cfscript or something like that? I have an ajax process bar that reports progress from an executable's line-by-line output, but for the ajax to work I have to call the CFC tha... read more »

@Gerald The Houseoffusion forums are atrocious, even though I agree they contain useful info and always come up at the top of Google. I actually did sign up for the forum but I did not have luck posting for some reason. They need a serious upgrade. The usability/style/look/feel/lack of features ... read more »

  • DreamWeaver CS3 Slows Me Down

I finally decided to plunge into DW CS3 because I feel like I'm now an "old timer" when I use Homesite. So far I only have two real efficiency-sapping complaints. If someone can help me fix them I will be happy. 1) The shift+F1 tag help does not always bring up "help", especially for some of the... read more »

I believe in love. I believe in compassion. I believe in human rights. I believe that we can afford to give more of these gifts to the world around us because it costs us nothing to be decent and kind and understanding. And, I want you to know that when you land on this site, you are accepted for who you are, no matter how you identify, what truths you live, or whatever kind of goofy shit makes you feel alive! Rock on with your bad self!
