Posted on Aug 2, 2011 at 3:11 AM
Great little article, and as a way to give back to the community, I thought I would share an updated scrape for this. Sorry Ben, for posting so much code: Just replace zzz with a in variable temp (anchor tags not allowed in comments!) <cfsetting requesttimeout="1000"> <... read more »

Building A Simple ColdFusion Dependency Injection Framework

@Paulo I'd have a read of the ColdSpring docs as it explains it quite well. I'd imagine it's similar, if not identical, to what Ben is doing (sorry Ben I didn't read the code - went waaay over my head :) I think this is the relevant link that explains it : http://www.coldspringframework.org/cold... read more »

Project HUGE: Optimum Nutrition Whey Protein - The Best Tasting, Best Mixing Protein Powder

Love the video :) I use maximuscle (which is what the england rugby team use ;). It's got a great taste to it, the only downside is the price - at around £25 for 2kg. I prefer to eat a lot of protein-rich food (who wouldn't!), and take drinks on the days when I don't eat enough of the good stuff... read more »

@ben can't say i've ever seen that, but i can relate to what your saying. A fair point, and likewise to marcs comment, people will ultimately be there for a slice of your grey matter. Are you putting these slides online? Sounds like it will be a good read... read more »

Presenting Ideas vs. Teaching Techniques
Posted on Jul 12, 2009 at 4:33 PM
I have to argue that being funny is 'useless' in a presentation. I had the pleasure of seeing one of Andy Allen's presentations, and while the content was very interesting, it came become a bit mind-draining after a while. He added lots of funny moments into his presentation, along with a general li... read more »

And On The Seventh Row, MOD Created 1, And It Was Good
Posted on Jun 30, 2009 at 4:29 PM
I'm referring to using MOD in a cfoutput query, where you'd need every other row highlighting, or a line break after every third item, or fifth. I've found the easiest and most legible way is to do : currentRow MOD 2 EQ 0 or currentRow MOD 3 EQ 0 or currentRow MOD 5 EQ 0 respectively. The only nee... read more »

And On The Seventh Row, MOD Created 1, And It Was Good
Posted on Jun 30, 2009 at 1:01 PM
I just wrote something similar before stumbling upong this post. I had a hard time deciphering MOD so I made this script so I could see how it works visually. <cfloop from="1" to="10" index="i"> <cfoutput> <h3>MOD #i#</h3> <cfloop from="1" to="10" index="z">... read more »
