Just to follow-up, you can set focus on non-input elements, but they must contain the attribute tabindex if they are not anchors or form elements.... read more »

Great post. How does this change if you want to make this a more generic... Set focus to a modal or the like... I've toyed with it a bit, but no luck when not focusing on non-input elements.... read more »
