jQuery 1.2.6 Even Better!
I was just reading over on Neil Middleton's blog that the jQuery team has released jQuery 1.2.6. According to the press release, there are a bunch of speed improvements and bug fixes. I almost can't express how awesome jQuery is. I have been using it quite heavily on my current project and I know in my heart of hearts that there is no way this project would have even been feasible without the use of jQuery. As such, nothing makes me happier than knowing it's getting even bigger, better, and faster!

Well, it got a little bigger :) But 30k (packed) is not bad considering it now includes the dimensions plugin (which rocks).
@Jim,
Obviously, we don't want it to get too much bigger size-wise; but with the speed improvements, I am definitely not complaining :)
A little increase in size but the rationale was definitely well worth it. Dimensions is one of the most widely used plugins and it just made sense to finish including the whole thing.
Also, keep in mind that if you use gzip, you can get it down to around 16k using the minified version.
Finally, I completely expect to be notified when your project is done so we can proudly list it on the Sites Using jQuery page! :D
@Rey,
I can try and make a little video of the stuff that is doing, before we get all sorts of proprietary data in there. That way, at least I can publicly demo it before it goes private.
Yeah, jQuery's hot, but the chics you use in your photos are even hotter.
regarding increased file size -
i just upgraded the version on a site i'm working on using
src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.2.6/jquery.min.js"
now if you were to use the same src on your site, then my browser will use my cached version - so no download or unpacking.

If like jQuery then I am sure you will love SquirrelFish as well because they go hand and hand give it a Google sometime.
