Certification And Logo Have Arrived :)
My Certified Developer Macromedia ColdFusion MX 7 Advanced Developer logo and certificate finally arrived. It's cool. You get what looks like a diploma from highschool or something. Not sure what to do with it exactly. I guess I will hold on to it until I have my own corner office so I can put it on the wall all framed nice and such.

I am not gonna try to integrate that logo with my site design somehow. Sweeeeet.

Congrats. If the test is anything like it was when I took it, you earned it. (Some of the questions defined the word "esoteric".)
I remember also thinking something similar when I got mine: "Oh, look, a CD of high-res logo artwork. Really *ugly* high-res logo artwork. With a ten-page disclaimer on how I can and cannot use the logo. In legalese."
"..."
"Oh, look, a new coaster!"
Seriously though, that certification gave me more weight to throw around than I thought it would have. I look the test on a lark at a con and it ended up being the tipping point for getting me several jobs. I hope yours works out as well for you.
Rick,
Yeah the test was pretty hard. I did a good amount of preperation and practice testing and the actual test was like "WHAT?" Strangely enough, I got a higher score on the actual test than I did on any of the practice tests. But yeah, some of the questions are very out there. Some were ambiguous and I wrote Adobe some comments.
Yeah, I hope that it gives me some more weight. I know my mom was really excited and told all her friends :) Gotta love moms.
I keep toying with the idea of putting some of my Allaire- and Macromedia-era CF t-shirts and sweaters up for auction. (I'm considering combining this with some sort of CF code bounty. Shirt yields money yields bounty yields code yields goodwill.)
I figure there's gotta be a young'un CF developer out there somewhere that thinks that having an old-skool Allaire t-shirt would be cool.
Rick,
I think it's a good idea.... if you can emotionally part with them :)
this article is cool ! Much knowledge that I can learn from.
